What Happens When You Die? | How Jesus Reframed the Afterlife—And This One, Too
When you were a kid, what did you imagine heaven would be like?
What stood out to you most from the message?
If you could choose whatever you wanted, what would heaven be like for you right now?
When you hear the word “resurrection,” what’s the first thing you think of?
Read John 11:25-27.
What does this passage mean to you? What would it look like for you to have “resurrection” right now?
Do you tend to think resurrection is available to us now, or after death? How could you start to embrace it today?
In Revelation 21:2-4 it says that God wipes away every tear from our eyes. What does it mean to you that our Father, God, wants to be caring and connected with you?
What’s one thing you can do to experience resurrection through Jesus today?
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like, “God, thank you for being a loving and caring Father, who’s not afraid to get close and intimate with us. Help us live into the resurrection and new life that Jesus brings. We need your joy. In the identity and character of your name we pray, amen.”
What happens when we die? What are we here for? What do I believe? And does it even matter?
How you answer these questions (or choose to ignore them) will shape everything you do for the rest of your life and beyond. This week, Kyle Ranson shows us how one statement from Jesus reframes every one of those questions. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
