The Coexistence of Faith and Doubt
Are you a blue spaghetti line person or a green box person? When did you learn this about yourself?
What stood out to you most from the message?
Do you tend to see God more in the good or in the bad of your life? Where do you think that tendency comes from?
What’s a question you’ve been nervous or scared to ask God?
Where have you seen the textbook method of seeking God show up in your life or the lives of the people around you?
What’s an area or a situation in your life that’s spurred cynicism in you? What would it look like to ask God about it and invite him in?
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for holding the tension between the good and the bad on the cross. Thank you for inviting our questions. Give us the courage to ask them. Amen.”
Having doubts doesn’t mean you don’t have faith. In fact, faith and doubt often go hand-in-hand – and together they lead to growth. Join Crossroads’ Pastor Kyle Ranson and learn how to be curious in your faith, see God in both the good and the bad, combat the effects of cynicism in modern life, and rekindle your childlike wonder for a deeper relationship with God.
