The Truth About Jesus | Anchored Week 2
We’re all anchored to some beliefs that make us all laugh. Share one or your strongest or strangest. Something like, “Moist is the worst word ever” and “No one should speak before you have coffee in the morning.”
Read John 14:6. Share what this verse means to you specifically, how it impacts your view of Jesus. It’s ok if you’re not really sure or still have questions about him. Share wherever you are.
If we look closely, we can find an area in our life that’s showing signs of being spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1). What’s one area you feel a lack of movement or internal decay?
What are some barriers to following Jesus in the area you just picked? Maybe it’s more comfortable to hold onto what’s familiar, but that keeps you stuck, or you don’t want to forgive that person because they hurt you.
Jesus brings us life by restoring our relationship with God (John 10:10). He’s known for bringing dead things back to life. What’s one place in your life that needs resurrection? After everyone shares, pray for that restoration. “Jesus, would you resurrect us? Would you take all the dead places in us and give them new life? We want the abundant life you promise. We anchor ourselves in the truth that you alone are the solution to our problems.”
One of the most controversial phrases in Christianity is "Jesus is the only way." We investigate what that really means.
